Hatteras Island Family Medicine focuses on health promotion and injury prevention. We see all age groups of patients throughout life from birth onward.   With the years of nursing on Hatteras Island in family medicine as well as being a resident for 18 years, who better to meet the needs of the community.  Our focus is for you to be the active leader in promoting a healthy lifestyle and maintaining your health.  This practice will not prescribe any controlled prescriptions such as narcotics for chronic conditions. 

Services we provide include but are not limited too:

• Physical exams including annual complete physical exams, well child exams, sports physicals & camp physicals, CDL physicals & Captains Physicals.
• Manage chronic conditions such as: Hypertension, Lipid problems, Diabetes, Asthma, COPD & many other chronic health problems.
• Manage acute illness or injury

In today’s health care system, no one provider works alone.  That includes us at Hatteras Island Family Medicine.  We work closely with other health care providers in the area and will refer you for more complex and specialized care when necessary.

Due to the small size of this practice we will not be able to see patients after hours.  There is currently after hour emergency care at the Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head.  In the event of a life threatening emergency do not hesitate to dial 911.  If your problem can wait until 8:00 am the next day, the office will be open.  Please call at 8:00 am to speak with the receptionist to schedule a time to be seen that day.  We strive for same day appointment scheduling

Office Visit   $45  (this fee at other offices is usually $93-$150)
Sports Physical or Camp Physical    $25

Labs work is offered at significant savings at up to 90% off standard lab fees.  One example,  a Cholesterol Panel is $25 versus over $150 at other facilities.  Call our office for specific test pricing.
